About the Artist

Hello and thank you for visiting my website and viewing my artwork. My name is Linda Griffin. I live in Saint Petersburg, Florida and am a watercolor (primarily) artist although, I also dabble in pastels, inks, collage and all things art. I am absolutely in love with the natural word and all of its Flora and Fauna and you'll find it is the main focus of my art.

Growing up in the Northeast, I was always playing in the dirt, picking flowers, and catching lightning bugs.  To this day, I revel in time outdoors and the magic of interacting with the natural world.  Art has always been my love language...an outlet to honor my adoration. Working in transparent watercolor on archival paper, I love to create very realistic renditions of the perfect beauty living all around us. From the feathers on a Flamingo to the dew drops on an Iris, I love to embrace the challenge of rendering their likeness.  I also love to travel and stand in the grandeur of all the worlds natural wonders.  It is always a humbling and transcendent experience.

Lately, I have been working with pastels and love their brilliance. I also really enjoy working with inks on amate bark paper. The natural paper has such great contrast with the bold color of the inks. You can see I have several listings of both.

I accept commissions for custom watercolor pet portraits.  You'll see I have an example of the before and after amongst the listings of previous pet portraits.  I am also available to do a custom painting from your photograph of your home, a place you have visited etc. Simply get in touch if you are interested in exploring that option.
